Collaboration with delicious flash ninja who did the animation and sound effects to bring this painting to life.Render time: 24 hours

Animation's cool and all, but the original pictured is much more enjoyable...
I understand it adds one dimension to the painting, but what's the point when you get distracted by sounds and all kind of stuff that stop you from focusing on the picture itself? (And this is especially relevant for the shaking screen!)

The critique box isn't working, so I'll paste what I wanted to say here
Anyway, at least now I can be briefer in my decsription, The only thing that seemed a little too still for me ina scene that had a lot of energy and activity was the sky. Perhaps doing some clouds seperately and on differnet layers and varying opacities would fake the look of moving clouds/smoke without needing any fancy particles effects or whatever, they do that same thing a lot in video games actually, knowing you and your swirling storms, I bet such an effect would look really great...But also hard, and there's no way anyone in the right mind would tell you to re-render that again (since I do 3D stuff and that too can leave you days waiting to render 
Anyway, the rest of the animation was magnificent! it must have bene hard makinga still image move in so many different areas in so many different ways

Tried that actually. I didn't have a lot of time to perfect it, and I found that my moving cloud layer was washing out some of the color of the original painting, and due to the simulated camera shaking, the effect was somewhat un-noticeable but added hours to final rendering time.
So... we cut it out.
We were working on a deadline, so I had to make this pretty quickly. The next image we do will allow me to be a bit more liberal with effects

personally i feel the energy bubbles are distracting attention away from the girl
which i think the leaves blowing + camera shake should be enough

You requested some critique, so I watched the "film" several times, and gave the original pic a look too. I would assume that the woman would be the center of attention and the main attraction of the piece, so that's why I think that the orbs in front of her kind of blocks her. Maybe the orbs could go like, to her from the frames or something. That would actually increase the focus on her too.

Lovely work, though the sprites look all jagged. You know, flash supports smoothing on bitmap assets.

It was made in Adobe After Effects and exported as a video to flash, thus the pixelization.
The only reason we used Flash is because as of this point, neither Alexiuss or myself have permissions to submit films to dA.
However, we're hoping to change this in the coming weeks, so our animations can stream like youtube streams video.
