I had the original in a picture book when I was young and hated it with a vengeance. The pictures, the words, I thought everything about it was ugly. A hare shooting a gun and a baby hare getting scalded by hot coffe, I found the whole thing way too violent.
This version, however, just made my day. It might be the best RA ever! (Which is a very difficult choice to make, because they are all so good.) I think it turned an outdated rhyme into a witty contemporary piece of art.

The art alone was EPIC
and the poetry fitted it perfectly, slightly humerous but quite dark.

You can tell this took time, it looks great, awesome job! I love seeing the characters from other artists' view. It gives them more life from just the limited comic (not that it's limited at all). These contests were an amazing idea!
