I'd take the Easter bunny any day over the sight of an innocent man bloodily nailed to a cross, with the bunny I get sweets and treats, I don't want no dead people in my Easter, save that for Halloween

Lamb sacrifices played a very important role in Jewish religious life and in the sacrificial system. When John the Baptist called Jesus "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29), the Jews who heard it certainly immediately thought of their main sacrifices. As the feast of the Passover approached, the first sacrifice that came to their mind may have been that of the paschal lamb. The Passover is one of the major Jewish holidays, commemorating God's liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The immolation of the paschal lamb and the application of its blood to the house posts (Exodus 12: 11-13) is in fact a beautiful image of the atoning work of Christ at the cross: those for whom he died are covered by his blood, which protects them from the angel of death (spiritual).

The rabbits and eggs celebration is part of the old pagan past celebrated by Europeans who experienced long harsh winters.
The real Easter is the one on the right. Thanks for making it this, hope others also open their eyes.

I agree but I still don't like celebrating under the name Easter as thats the name of a false god. I think Resurrection Day is better.

Agreed, just like Santa during Christmas. Β Let us remember the real reason for the holiday.

yes, when you see that people think that December 25th is the birth of Jesus, it's anything

I feel the same. The two major holidays are way too tangled with old pagan celebrations and images.

some believed that easter eggs are based on the egg that Mary Magdalene brought to Tiberius. The egg was turned red to prove that her testimony of Christ's death was true. Maybe the egg story is a hoax. Orthodox believe that it's true. Well rely only on the Bible.

our family celebrates the rise of Jesus and after church the whole family gets together to eat and let the kids have a Easter egg hunt. We don't believe in the easter bunny (duh) or celebrate it but the activity is pretty fun and a nice idea.
