Just a few things...
1. Not all homosexuals practice sodomy, and the act of sodomy isn't exclusive to homosexuals. I know a lot of straight people who participate this sexual act as well.
2. Leviticus 18:22 is part of the Jewish law, by following those laws you prove yourself to be a good Jew, not a Christian.
AND last but not least...
3. Do you also follow/advocate for people to follow the other 612 Jewish laws contained in the old testament? Such as not eating shell fish which is also called an abomination in some translations or knocking up your sister-in-law if your brother dies and doesn't have a son to carry on his name? Or do you only believe we should follow certain ones?
I am not trying to start trouble and I am not an atheist. I am actually a Christian. I just believe people should know the true context of the scriptures they read and hope to spread a better understanding of what Christianity actually is. It's not Judaism 2.0 or a list of qualifications you must meet. It's about how Christ died for our sins because no one is perfect, how he wishes for us to make good decision for the benefit of ourselves and others, and how we shouldn't judge.. Instead he gave the example of extending compassion to people and encouraging them to live the best life they can

This is why the Westboro Baptist Church makes me so mad, along with other extremist Christians; they genuinely believe that God hates gays. God doesn't hate ANYONE.
I'm a firm believer that it is not a sin to be, but it is a sin to act. It's not a sin to be attracted to the same sex, but it is a sin to act upon those attractions, and have a partner of the same sex. I've had girlfriends, I admit it. And I have begged God for forgiveness. I thank Him every day that Jesus came to this Earth and did what needed to be done. I needed to pray to God to find the strength to break up with one of my now ex-girlfriends, and I cannot thank Him enough for delivering.
Extremist Christians and Anti-Christians alike need to read Matthew 7:1-5.

An "extremist Christian" would be extremely like Jesus, so we all need to be "extremist Christians," don't you think? Maybe the term should be "mislead Christians" or "possible Christians" or "confused Christians."
I agree with you though: People who can't hate sin and love people at the same time don't understand what being a Christian even is. If I hated other people for being sinners, I should hate myself too!
The more I learn to love Jesus, the more I learn to hate sin because ultimately sin ALWAYS hurts people. Every kind of sin, not just sexual sin, is destructive. That's literally why Jesus came, to free us from this horrific disease we contracted thousands of years ago. A disease that kills our spirits, destroys our lives now and eternally, and separates us from God who is our LIFE.
But the darkness hates the light: "Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed." John 3:20 That's why so many people are determined to call sin good and good sin, just as the Bible prophesied would happen.
*steps off soapbox*
I understand your point, but I don't see the artist or art here saying that God hates anyone either. It may be an unpopular verse to post right now, but it is in the Bible.
Cheers!

No, no, no, no.
think about what Jesus did. He sat down with sinners. He helped so many people who where not Christians. They are not the enemy, the Bible talks about being a disciple and a missionary, “love your neighbor.”
Jesus is loving and really, the only enemy is the devil. We where all enemies until we found Christ. So, it’s unfair to just generalize. Especially since we where all born as sinners. We’re no better than they are.

This is not about charity. That's a-given.
Scripture says love your enemies, calls non-christians as wicked and deceitful, evildoers, wrongdoers.
At our birth we were enemies of God. At our renewal/baptism, we re-united and became children of God.
Those who reject scripture (God and His Word) are enemies of God.

Our enemies are NOT flesh and blood. Our enemies are sin, the devil and his minions. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12.
Other people are NOT to be seen as enemies to be fought in the Christian's mind! That thinking is contrary to everything Jesus ever did or said. What about, "Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34 He was like a lamb led to the slaughter, etc.
Yes, those who reject God make themselves His enemies. I see what you're saying there. But it's dangerous and unhelpful to talk about unbelievers as our enemies, as Christians. When Jesus was on earth he called the hypocritical religious leaders terrible names and called them out, etc. But for the regular citizenry, he had few harsh words.
Also, doesn't the idea behind "love your enemies" rather imply that Christians see no one as an enemy? Jesus says to greet everyone like you greet your friends, etc. (Matthew 5:43-48) So maybe the answer is not merely to love your enemies (Jesus always revealed a broader spirit behind the narrow law.), but to see everyone as dear to you because that's what Jesus did - with Judas, with me and with you. He fights *for* them, rather than *against* them, as we should, because He is merciful.
Unfortunately they're like drowning people and don't realize, even reject help many times.

Hi. No, "love your enemy" clearly implies an enemy.
God is merciful. What do we need mercy from?
Yes, they are our (or God's) enemy and do not know what they are doing.
There is almost two categories of sin - sin which we are born with, and sin that we do. Both qualify to reject God. We are enemies of God at birth because we inherit the curse from Eve. But you may have confused that with say - a deviant, terrorist or atheist or the typical bad behaviour of humans like lying etc. This is actual sin.
In our colloquial language we might have a slightly different definition for "enemy" - someone who is distinctively hostile and aggressive, but the Latin root of the word essentially means 'not a supporter' or 'not a friend'. If you are not a friend or child of God - then you are against Him, there is no grey area. Sin creates a huge disconnection between us and God, we all need to realise that. We literally fell away from Heaven.
The Eph 6 text is about the source of darkness. The source is not originally from the flesh but of the devil - in the spiritual realm. So you are correct there but haven't broken down the text correctly. It doesn't mean that people cannot ever be an enemy, it's just saying that the issue goes beyond the flesh. The bigger fight we have here is the spiritual one and God is the only way to rectify that. We have access to God via the law, gospel and prayer (Eph 6: 14-18).
And yes there are people who unfortunately have not heard the word, but this does not mean that they are definitely saved - we're not universalists. There is a lot of mystery to our God and who He elects. So we pray that many may come to know Him.
Peace be with you.

I have no idea how you got that impression from anything I said. O.o

Did Jesus call us to walk up to someone and tell them they're your enemy? Because by saying all unbelievers are the enemies of all Christians on a public website that's effectively what you're doing.
Is that really the heart of God?
Regardless of whether or not the unrepentant are *technically* his enemies, which they are. My dispute is that Jesus didn't teach us to push that in people's faces or to take the fight to other human beings or feel combative against them. Thus the verse about our fight is not against human beings, but against sin, evil powers, the devil, etc.
And I think by your saying in your first comment, Who cares? They're our enemies anyway. (my paraphrase) That's a combative statement, not caring or loving in any way towards your enemies.

Okay, look I know the Bible talks a lot about being humble and all, but humbleness isn’t “thinking less of yourself.” It’s “thinking of yourself less.” Theres huge difference and saying “I am nothing.” Is somewhat wrong, especially since Jesus died for us, so obviously we’re not NOTHING.
