Great question. I based my idea on what Pokémon to make Sid based off her personality. And since I draw Ronnie Anne as a Poipole, an Ultra Beast Pokémon, I figured that drawing Ronnie Anne’s new best friend as a Pokémon that is around the same high quality would be appropriate. And after judging Sig Chang and her personality from the previews, the first high class Pokémon that came to mind was Hoopa. So I figured that Hoopa’s mischievous and cheerful personality sounded similar enough to Sid and that’s why I draw Sid Chang as a Hoopa.
