To bad they were too proud to think to have more life boats the first time...

Well as it turns out Titanic had over the amount of 'required' life boats for that time. They were just coming off of sailing/steam ships without enough room for a large amount of boats. When those went down they went down and only a certain amount of people could fit on the boats.
It was after Titanic that they realized that the standard needed to be changed due to the massive difference in ship scale.
My model is about 12in long. Not a bad size. If I had more room I'd like a bigger one.

It's just too bad that so many people had to pay the price before they got the idea to have more or bigger boats.
Haha! Well, maybe you could make a 'life-size' one in Blender. I'm sure it would take a long time though.

I saw the old black and white film. At least the end of it. I just love the Olympic liners' design. Such pretty ships.
