Brilliant and very cool. Only thing that I question is that everything appears to be on the same plane - horizontal. It reads right though. Am I understanding that the ships are supposed to fly through the station?

Only small ships can fly in directly to the station. All the rest is joined through the outer gates and cargo console.

All models of ships and stations I created in Maya, the scene is constructed and render in Bryce. Postprocessing and background done in Photoshop.

Sorry if I offended you. But the fact is that I have long been convinced that the tools do not play a special role. You can put golden handle alone blots, and stochennym to the base of a pencil to write brilliant poetry. Tools that I use - is not perfect, and I use them not as good as I would like. On this site many examples of virtuoso ownership 3D and 2D, with the result from applied programs depends not much.
If you are again asked the original question - I would have answered the same way: "Is it important?" But, probably, would have added: "It's not what, and how."
If after this you decide to hurt me completely - your right, I will not persuade. Sorry for the verbosity and my bad English.
