This piece is truely a work of art. The color scheme is beautiful, and I feel as if can reach my hand into the screen and touch him (Oulalax3). His facial expression is amazing, I feel that it says "Daydreamer" because, well. It looks like he is daydreaming. (x3) And the rays around him give the picture a sense of power, and stability. Another thing I would like to bring up; The hair looks as if it's gently flowing in the wind, or as if a fan is in front of him and the strands of hair are carefully breaking away from the entire fit of hair. The claws on his hands also make him look fierce, and I feel it goes great with the piece. You did an outstanding job, please keep it up!

His name is Silas, and he is one of the main characters from a scifi/fantasy novel I am writing called Dream Walker

Aha ... and what is he? His ears point to him being an elf ... (pun intended)

Heehe~ Well, Silas and his race are very elf-like, and have a symbiotic relationship with nature like an elf. In the world he is from, he is called a Xylia, a Forest Spirit. Many generations ago his race looked a lot less humanoid, but over time that has changed (wont say why) Silas is actually being transformed back to what the First Ones once were. In the drawing I had the artist make, he is wearing ceremonial garbs that is meant to represent one of the deities 'pets' that his people worship. His tribe worships Esen, a wind deity, and its guardian is a bird-like serpent named Lejsh.
I am likely spoiling plot lines, but I'll stop myself here. I don't want to go too into detail in case anyone wants to read into it. Besides, I don't have all the chapters up and I am still writing them all down and have a lot to edit.

Dream Walker Synopsis: Silas is a young spirit healer in training who was chosen to mend and guide lost souls to their origins. As a small child, he learned of the stories of his people, the Esen tribe, and the deities and guardians that once roamed with them from long ago. His world consisted of daily prayers and maintaining a symbiotic relationship with the forest and the spirits that created life. That was until strange men in white armor came and shredded that world apart.

Well, "elf" is the term one uses when he has to talk about more or less spiritual beings closely associated with nature and likely having pointed ears

Ah, then yes! Silas is a type of elf, especially since he deals with the forest and the supernatural. Plus he is a spiritual being
The term elf kind of confuses me at times because I've seen it as a generalized term, and there are so many types of elfish creatures out there. I even consider a fairy to be a type of elf.
But yesh. The race of people in Silas's world are tall, elf people with pointed ears, claws and sharp teeth-- and there are fairies made of light in this world as well.
