I rather enjoyed the new Watership Down mini-series! I had a lot of problems with it, but they were mostly forgivable. I went into it expecting disappointment and wasn't by any means!
Out of the perplexing changes they did, the one I fully supported was the new Black Rabbit. She (that's right, she) absolutely thrilled me the second I saw her. I was just... so happy. I dunno why, I guess just the fact a doe was represented in such an important role it just... warmed my heart. Is that the representation talking? Who knows!
Anyway, I can understand why a lot of die hard WSD fans like myself didn't enjoy the new series, but I did, and I chose to draw my fav wifu, but with my own representational twist. Hope you enjoy her

I know I've said it already, but I love your rendition of Inlé here. She somehow looks comforting and sinister at the same time (even though I know she's just doing her job).
I also went on at length about the mini on Twitter, but I agree with you for the most part about the various adaptations. But no matter who you are and even whether or not you've read the incredible book, I think we can all agree that the early 2000s series was junk. 8D

I liked making her a lady-rabbit, but I also didn't like her showing up and speaking as early as she did so this change is a bit of a mixed bag for me.

I actually really liked the Netflix mini-series too! Sure, the animation wasn't the greatest and they changed quite a bit from the book, but I could look past that. The voice acting was great tho! And yes, I really liked this version of the Black Rabbit of Inle too^^

I particularly enjoyed the black rabbit being the rabbit's version of the angel of death. Which, I'm not sure why, but I've always pictured the angel of death as being a she.
I've never read the book, nor seen the original animated version, but I very much enjoyed this series. I had many questions that went unanswered, but over all the story was told and I felt it was told well.

Everything I see is either people disliking it cause they can't detach themselves from how great the film is (which is understandable) or they absolutely adored it and name it a masterpiece. I'm sort of in the middle I suppose!

Yeah they did, which made me scratch my head too. It didn't, like, mess with the story flow any, it was fairly seamless, but it was a very weird cut. And they switched roles for the "bright eyes" scene (but without the bright eyes part) which was a really poor choice and I think everyone is mad about that lol

Relatively! It’s dumbed down a bit, but it’s still dark and harsh and gets the same general point across. Honestly the worst part for me was they used too many romance plots which were complete misses. Otherwise, I think it’s a great adaption!

I'm new to the watership down series. I heard folks talk about it and said that it traumatized them as kids. I was sadly not one of those kids but I was able to see the Netflix version of the series and it was cool.
