Just for the hell of it, I'm going to upload a stretch of WIP pics as I work on this one.

Maybe it'll clear up some of the "How did you do that?"s.

Step one. Block in the lights. And darks. But I haven't finished the darks. You can see the start of some shading on Chris (front) and the beginnings of some backlighting on Tom (mid) and Russell (back).

I'm toying with the idea of a slight color shift towards red in the middle ground with the predominant color being a grayish rust color.

I also suspect I'll at least try some scaffolding/building texture overlay in the background. Hand drawn, which is going to be a pain. I don't have much patience for architecture.

Essentially I just stole all the colors out of The Last Great Touchpad Work. Because I love those colors.

I try to stick with a small number of colors at first. I've found it helps keep things lively. Using a couple colors together to suggest another (even though I still can't do this all that well yet) looks a lot cooler than just a vast stretch of exactly the right color.
