I don't know if it's just me but the boy looks a little angry. Not like he is playing cute and hiding but like he is in trouble or something and is hiding his emotion and frustration with his hands. I think it's the way his eyebrow is tilted downwards at the edge closest to his nose and how one eye is lighted and visible while the other is completely dark-you can't even see an outline or shadow of his other eye. Very amazing picture. Is it done with charcoal?

this is looking pretty good, could use a little more shading on the finger nails, where they meet the skin at the sides, but otherwise it's very nice
