Years passed. Afua went through many difficulties that made his body and his mind stronger. There were times when he thought he wouldn’t make it, when he wanted just to lay down, close his eyes, fall asleep and never wake up. But each time he told himself not to give up, after all, he had a very important mission. He had to find his friend.

Travelling through the Great Desert, then through the jungle and even further away from the Pridelands, he found Kopa’s trails here and there, but never Kopa himself. It seemed like he was chasing a ghost, but the scent, the pawprints – all these things told him that his best friend was alive.

Though one day Afua’s luck ended. He lost Kopa’s trails. The young lion spent hours searching for them, but to no avail. He didn’t know where to go, there was nobody to ask. For about a month he roamed aimlessly through savannah until the very fateful day.

The sun was shining very bright, but the light breeze and the clouds, that periodically covered the yellow ball in the sky, saved the animals from the terrible heat. Afua was slowly walking through the tall dry grass, when suddenly his ears caught the crunching sound. He raised his head only to see the massive yellow lion pouncing at him and knocking him to the ground.

- Who are you and what are you doing here? – he growled, showing his claws and pressing to the ground, leaving Afua no chance of getting up.

- I… I… - mumbled the young lion, looking into the cold blue eyes. He was too terrified even to think about anything, yet those eyes seemed familiar to him. – I’m just looking for my friend Kopa, I didn’t mean to cause any trouble.

- Well, you are causing it, by entering my territory. So…

The stranger suddenly fell silent. The name this brown lion just told him… He was almost sure he’s heard it somewhere. He looked into the scared face, distant memories began to flood his mind, and now the name ‘Kopa’ didn’t seem so alien. It was his name.

He hid his claws and made few steps to the side, letting the stranger get up.

- I am Kopa… - he muttered quietly, then looked at the young lion again and repeated, a little louder now: - I am Kopa.

Now he remembered. He remembered everything, his family, his home, his… friend.

- Afua… - he gasped in disbelief. – Is that really you? I can’t believe it.

- Kopa! - Afua shouted exitedly and rushed to his long lost friend. It was his turn to knock him to the ground. – You’re alive! I was right!

Joy overwhelmed them, tears poured down their cheeks as they shared everything they could think of. But there was no need to hurry, now that they were together they had all the time to talk.

Nobody asked, but here it is! The continuation of Kopa and Afua’s story! Ahh I love happy sentimental endings ^^ After all the suffering I put him through, Kopa needed his happy life. Maybe I’ll do another one, just to draw smiling Kopa, for once XDD

Before you ask, they are friends, just friends^^ There’re enough romantic couples in my HC, it needs more true friendship XD

Oh look how massive Kopa is compared to Afua! He’s bigger than everage lion, he’s very much like his great grandfather Ahadi (Kopa is even a bit bigger than Mufasa).

I don’t think you’d believe if I told you I drew this without a single ref. Yet it is true. The thing is, I didn’t find any suitable ones and I was too lazy to search for more But I love how it turned out and I’m very proud of myself XD
