The white shadow reveals itself without moving... I have chortles... Huuuuriiiiicaaaane... Confused, and ANGRY... Ha...Ha...HAKUSHON... Everyone's cheating but me! ...Press it like so... Legend tells of a giant that rises with the sun.... GOLDEN FINGER CRASH!...So yeah, image is done! Colored, shaded, etc. etc.
I experimented with some new shading techniques for some characters, and Doronjo showed me that I can't draw busty females if my life depended on it. This big ol' image is based on the original Japanese Tatsunoko vs Capcom, hence why Tekaman Blade, Ai-Chan and Joe the Condor aren't on the Tatsunoko side, and Hakushon Daimao is.

Just glad this thing is finally DONE! Took roughly an hour per character in terms of coloring and shading, and a few hours to retrace everything, then a few hours to figure out the custom lighting for characters like Samus, Karas, Doshin, Ray Mk. I, etc.

Ay, I'm ticked off at how the lightning came up.
Originally his own lens was supposed to be explosively bright and the other one was supposed to have a streak of light through it, but I couldn't figure out how to pull that off at the time so that's what I ended up with.

I wanted to use a bird girl of some sort y'see.
Another example, Drake Redcrest's Japanese name is Gitchoman, so he's the counterpart to Ken the Eagle, lead dude of Gatchaman.
Oh, and yeah, Nintendo has. Nintendo and Namco have teamed up several times, for Mario and Pac-Man kart racing, some Pac-Man games with Mario doing the announcing, Link's appearance in Soul Calibur, etc.
It's generally not as 'big' as Mario and Sonic at the Olympics (Wario Blast, recall? Wario and Bomberman duking it out...) but it does happen.

The main reason I chose who I chose is because of their similar styles, personalities, or themes.
In the group from Tatsunoko there's not really a Mario analog. Ken the Eagle and Jun the Swan more closely resemble Drake Redcrest and Medli, Karas and the Black Knight, Gold Lightan and Doshin the Giant, Hakushon and Tingle, Doronjo's Gang and Wario, Waluigi and Captain Syrup, Casshern and Ray Mk. I, Hurricane Polymar and Fawful (they both have FURY!), Ippatsuman and Captain Falcon, and Tekkaman and Samus Aran, aka, big shoulders forever.
