Description
The assignment : take a pencil scetch and work with it in Adobe Illustrator.Class: Adobe Illustration
Time: about seven hours
My teacher assigned this to us for a pen tool exercise. I had a lot of fun with it. At first I didn't really like Illustrator until I took this class, only because I am beginning to understand it more now. The Giesha was roughly scetched on a scan that he provided for us and our assignment was to color it by manipulating the pen tool. All the colors and the design are mine.
Let me know what you fellow das think!!
This is my first time using illustrator like this so I could use any tips you guys might have.

That's so awesome, did you go over everything with the pen tool? Guesswhat? Illustrator CS2 has auto-trace >_< Must..illegally...download...gasp...

i love the colors and the circle pattern...it is really beautiful and the sky is gorgeous...but it kinda looks like you have stars in the leaves...

i think your evil powers went awry when you tried to take over the stars but the stars are trying to rebel in their own twinkling way by taking over tree leaves...stars can be so evil...

XD There are spaces in between the leaves... that might be where you are seeing the stars. The tree and leaves are on a layer above the one with stars, so no worries there

XD I was amazed that it turned out that way. It was my first time using the pen tool and manipulating all those vectors and things. :sweatdrop: I have more assignments coming up with gradients and gradient meshes... I wonder how those will turn out. >.<

this picture reminds me of the time a friend of mine said he wanted to be a samurai geisha (what the...?) yeahh, it was pretty akward. Anyway, i love this picture, the color scheme, the way it's colored and all... definately deserves a fave.
