Description
Topgroup: Animalia
Megagroup: Invertebrates
Abyrabs are a large supergroup of Marine Invertebrates, known for being exclusive to the Great (absent from the northernmost areas) and Ceruvian oceans. they are swimming predators that use a total of ten fins to glide through the water. possessing four large claw like structures over and under their mouths these beasts can also move these "claws" to drag impaled prey into the mouth where it will be torn to shreds.
Abyrabs also posses a very hard shell that grows with them, not shedding the exoskeleton results in one less weakness of the Abyrabs. Abyrabs are able to habitat any depth of saltwater between shallow coasts and deep abysses being able to attack creatures like fish and sea crustaceans without like issue as their speed and sharp claws are hard to match for any creature of the sea.
However they are prey too, coming out of the depths allows them to preyed apon by fellow predators such as Swimming Wyverns, Large Fish or Large Amphibians, resulting in a quick death for these creatures.
Abyrabs can beach themselves and return to the water quickly in order to snap up unwary prey such as Waterbirds
Abyrabs can be split into 12 groups which will be covered soon in the Group overviews.
