ColonialReady for something new? The macro and the micro is something I've begun to explore. Using portraits and figurative photography I obliterate the image into something new. An abstract topographical...thing. Forgive me for my lack of explanation for now. This is something new for me and I really don't know how to talk about it. The colors in this piece remind me of an old colonial american flag. The whites of the flag becoming bitter and yellowed.
I hope to continue with the exploration in this strange realm, that to me, is very foreign and mysterious. I feel like an explorer in search for the Northwest Passage through America from Europe to Asia. Besides exploration, I also hope this can become an addition to my current practice and eventually influence my portraiture and figurative work as well.
