My entry for this month's Character Design Challenge on Facebook, on the theme of Egyptian Gods
Hathor is the Egyptian Goddess of joy, love and femininity, as well as music, dance and fertility. She is commonly depicted as a cow goddess with horns holding a sun disk, an Uraeus and a Menat necklace. She was so fun to paint

How lovely! You managed to perfectly capture the visage of a cow! While calling someone "cow" today might insinuate that the person is ugly, this depiction of Hathor is anything but! In fact, I think her bovine face is very cute. Nice work!

Thanks for your kind words ! I've been very inspired by various Disney movies; I like how they design animals to make them more expressive and, in a sense, more human

Hathor I don't see a lot of depictions of her in contemporary art, so it's definitely a refreshing change of pace for the Egyptian pantehon. Her dainty little twirl just adds so much to her character that really fleshes out her attributes before I even read the description. Well done and an excellent sense of lighting as always.

I've always liked the Egyptian Gods who were half-animals the most when I was a kid, it sorta differentiated them from the more classical looking Greek or Roman Gods
So that's in part why I decided to paint Hathor

Oooh, j'aime beaucoup !

This head remind me of an ancient egyptian god, or goddess. Not sure. Maybe I am mistaken.

I can't tell whether your comment is ironic or not, it's just too hard to detect humor on the Internet XD
So, yes, it's the Egyptian Goddess Hathor, it's precised in the description

Nothing ironic. I should have read the description more closely. I happen to work in pharmaceuticals distribution, and one laboratory has a logo which remind me your pic. the disc between the horns. I just checked on the net, it was in their cas the bull Aspis, also from Egyptian Mythology. However your picturing is great !

Yeah, the Egyptian people had several 'cow' deities, according to the time or the place. It's a mythology way less 'organized' and 'consistent' than, say, the Greek pantheon
