Description
An alien species I reinvented from one of my old sketches. This species is called the Besheera (Be-sheer-a). They evolved on a planet with 0.5 the gravity Earth and are tall (5m) and slender because of it. Their ancestors were once arboreal but adapted to life on expanding grasslands and developed a more ungulate-like morphology. They retained two fingers on their first pair of forearms and their second pair remained free. Two of the Besheera's most striking features are on their heads. They possess two ballon-like sacks on top of their heads that act as a secondary pair of lungs to absorb more air (their planets atmosphere is thinner than Earth's) and as a aid in vocalization (trumpeting sounds and the like). Another feature is that their mouths have decorated flaps that they splay out to starter predators. This had more use in the past but is now reduce to a pranking tool for younger individuals. In spite of limited resources on their small planet, the Besheera were able to venture into space fairly quickly due to less gravitational restraint and being able to adjust to microgravity better. They do have to wear eco-suits in order to counteract the effects of higher gravity on other worlds. They try to maintain a neutral position in interspecies affairs, being more interested in trade than conflict.Related content

So are they herbivores, for I thought so based on their Dentation but then I looked at their stomachs and noticed that they weren't very large so perhaps they are omnivores?

Thanks for pointing that out, though it would make sense that they became omnivores because adding protein in your diet is one of the catalysts of brain size increase.
