This is Lt. Col. John Sheppard from the TV show Stargate Atlantis.

I had started this a few months ago, in colour, but got discouraged along the way and stopped. So a couple of days ago I picked it up again and decided to do it in black and white instead, which happened to be a much better idea for me. I have to say I'm not terribly happy with it but I think it's presentable so here it is.

For the record, I didn't put a lot of effort into painting his clothes. It's not something I like to do (especially when it's something as complex as military gear) and to me all the fun lies in doing the face and hair of my subjects. And another thing I really don't like doing because it's so damn hard to make it look right is stubble... Maybe I should stay away from painting male subjects!
