It's been a hell of a long time since I've last posted anything... With the upcoming release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider though, I felt like creating something Lara-related. And of course I just had to pair her with my all-time favourite treasure hunter, Nathan Drake.So here they are together again, plotting to figure out how they're going to take down the next wave of enemies.
This was just an exercise for me to get back into working with XPS. Only Lara was made from a model here and Nate is part of the background screenshot. I must have a bit of a masochist streak though because that smirk on Lara's face took me forever to do. Yeah, if you want to challenge yourself in XPS, try and put a smile on your character. That is probably why you practically never see them smile and when they do, it usually looks very creepy...

"Looks like we've got another army to contend with." Lara said quietly to Nate at her side.
"Once again, we're forced to contend with a legion of dumb college drop-out, amateur grunts. Ever notice that the dumber they are, the more deadly hardware they pack?" Nate replied in a scoffing tone.
"Indeed I have. So...any brilliant ideas?" Nate pondered hard for a minute. He raised the field binoculars to his eyes and scanned the heavily guarded area some 4 hundred yards in their front.
"Is that steam I see coming out of your ears?" Lara joked. Nate gave her a short burst of raspberry without removing the lenses from his eyes. Finally, he brought them down. He turned to her. She could see a devious gleam in his eyes.
"What are you plotting?" She was most eager to hear his brainstorm.
"Lend me your ear." He leaned in close and whispered his idea. She listened without saying a word until he'd finished. What she heard caused her to smile so loudly she had to chuckle.
Confusion showing on his own face, Nate asked what she thought was so funny.
"Your plan is so bloody stupid."
"Oh ungrateful eh? Well at least..."
"I love it. In fact I couldn't have planned any different under the circumstances."
"Now that's better." Nate relented and smiled himself. Both turned back to their objective still grinning.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's kick some ugly grunt bottom." Lara said as she drew her dual .40 S&W pistols, chambering a round in each.
"Just don't forget that this is my plan. Meaning you have to do what I say when I say." Nate replied also making sure his 7.63 x 39 assault rifle was loaded.
"I suppose I can make the sacrifice. Let's just get on with it."
"Woo tiger." Nate placed his hand on her shoulder. His voice dropping to a whisper again. "You'll get your meat...now, follow me."
Still smiling, she followed him stealthily through the dense underbrush.
