Description
This character is inspired on a concept by Johan Wahlbรคck.I tried to capture same lighting and shape from his original concept as much as possible with my own flavor .
I used Maya for base mesh and did the rest in mudbox rendered in Vray and post in After effects.
Comments and critiques are welcome
You can check Johan's original image here

I think even Captain America would crap his patriotic pants after seeing this Red Skull.

i've reported him. and it's not the first time that happens. his whole gallery is made of stolen parts. Some people here on D.A. seem to think that giving the name of "render" is an excuse to take credit for our work.

Beautiful render. The depth of the image is nice and the shaders works very well ! I think all it lacks is even less symmetry. The stretchy and deformed look of the concept give him a more sinister aspect. Anyway, good job !

Great work! Maybe the cracked plates on the head could stand a bit more like plates but well thats my flavor then, not yours The neck looks a bit odd, I mean the part next to the right side of his chin. Can't figure whats wrong, maybe the light or the way muscles are there..

oh well since i m using mudbox u can make paint layers and use them like in the photoshop also i m using pixplant to get uniquely created patterns for any texture then project that texture onto a model and handpaint than the shading process comes but thats a another long story

This is completely awesome. Great character, and really unique. The modeling looks top notch, and and the sculpted details are great. I like the lighting and details of your render as much, or more, than the original, but my only critique is that the original has a personality that your version seems to be lacking. For example, the way this character is "rigidly" posed (straight up and down), rather than slightly hunched over and menacing like in the original, makes it feel a little more sterile, and somewhat like CG, rather than organic and real. Great work.
