Description
This is my first attempt at true Comic book style digital rendering. I've wanted to do this for so long, but never knew the technique, but now thanks to I finally feel like I've achieved my dreamLine Art of Calsyndra created by John Rauch Jr. from [link]

I'm not sure what it was drawn in, most likely a scanned line drawing. (I didn't draw the character, I only did the color for this one). All of the coloring was done in adobe photoshop using rgb color channels. A very interresting way to work indeed, I had never thought of working in that manner before learning about it. Thanks for the comment

Thanks, and now that I have two weeks off before the next term starts, hopefully I'll actually get to do more...this time trying to focus more on my original characters

Thanks Everyone, and Monk, I'll have to tinker around more with the tools....but I actually didn't use the airbrush except for putting the shine on the metal at the very end....everything was done with the gradient to transparency....I might have been to hard on some of the color though. Originally I didn't use the white, but I saw that they used a secondary light color, and I wanted an overall effect, so I was hoping that white would do the trick. Thanks a lot for the comment Monk, I'll keep that in mind for next time

Well as a basic rule, you should'nt ever use white for your highlights. Unless you're shading a cold and fake material, like metal, or plastic, what have you. But not ever for skin tones, because it instantly makes things look fake.
Second, but this is just my opinion, I really hate the airbrush tool. So why don't you try shading all of this picture the way they show you in that tutorial, with selections and gradients.

It looks good this far, I think you can move forward and get it going, you'll do just fine. At least that's what I think < so do I )
