Description
Checken dregen is baaackSo I decided to make this a thing. This is a creature purely created by me (jokingly at the beginning), but now I decided to keep it as one of my species and try to develop it as a concept. For now all I have here is the head, but in the future I'll try to portray it's entire body (which looks pretty much like a wyvern's).
Recently I've been trying to link all my ideas and concepts in a single world so I've imagined a planet (or more) where all the things in my mind live. But I need a lot of time and work to draw the lines of such a complex idea and of course, I still need to imagine a lot of things and conceive them in a way that makes at least a little sense to the science we know.
But it's not the moment now to write about my planet (it doesn't even have a name yet), but I can begin this with a little step which is writing some things about this species (that probably will need it's own name too... it's not really a kind of dragon). So here are some introductory notions about it:
- firstly, this is a male. The sexual dimorphism in this species is similar to many modern birds, the males present an obviously larger crest on their head which is bony and sharp, probably useful not only in courtship but also in combat. And their colors are also brighter, but not entirely different than the females'.
- their size may vary according to the subspecies they belong to, but the most common ones are about 1.30 to 1.50 m (51 to 59 in) high.
- their diet is based on meat, but they also prefer consuming certain fruits during one or two months of the year.
- they have only four pairs of teeth, all visible, sharp and thin as a razor, but still very strong, enhancing a bite nearly impossible to escape. They are not venomous and don't present toxic saliva.
- they have a pair of normal eyes, with an elongated pupil, and tree pairs of rudimentary eyes that don't present eyelids and are sensible to various radiations that pass by the senses of most animals.
- the back spikes are protuberances of the spine and serve to defense.
- as I said they resemble wyverns, which means they have a pair of wings and a pair of legs.
This is all I could think of now, but I'll come back to these guys with more information
And one last thing, the subspecies present various colors, this is the original one, but I'll paint it in more ways soon

Heheh, now you remind me of myself so many years ago, when I was starting to develop my own world a bit more seriously. Also the attitude of "it's fantasy, but it has to make sense to science" Keep it going, and I wish you all the inspiration you need. Also, nice detail on the model

Of course it has to make sense to science, I'm not planing to use forms of magic because it won't be that kind of fantasy. Maybe I'll make magic-based fantasy too, but I have to read more about it, I've never read fantasy books xD You wanted to do this too? Those maps and species you describe are part of it?
And thank you very much

Mmmm, magic doesn't conflict the science part, I tend to put a lot of thought into magic so that it is logical and realistic. But I'm genuinely surprised you haven't read (high) fantasy. I grew up with that kind of fantasy, lol.
Ummm.... Not only wanted, I've been working on it for many years (since school really). For some time it got pushed in the background, but I came back to it recently and I very much enjoy it. And yes, all the maps and species descriptions I do are parts of my world. As are the short stories I publish every now and then. I also have a novel in the making, but it still needs some time and work because I plan to translate it to English on my own.

Yeah, you're right, magic could also be similar to unbelievable scientific speculations because both of them are pure imagination. But I'm not sure how well I'll do with it, anyway, it's just the beginning I just want for now to make some creatures and particular characters, I don't really have a story yet.
I have only watched fantasy movies and read short literature, but when I was a child I didn't like reading so much, and then, in secondary school, I have to read compulsory novels that were only with humans. And then I became addicted (around the eighth grade) to SF because it's like a legacy in my family, so this is what I've been fed. But when I'll have time for it, I'll ask you first for an advice
Ohh that's an amazing project, I can't wait for it I love all your creations and I wish all your plans and ideas will come out brilliant

Meh, school does real well to make kids hate reading.... I was like that as well. But anyway. If I can help, I gladly will I don't consider myself an authority in the matter, but perhaps I can fish out some practical advice out of my brain, lol XD
Aww, thank you so much!

Yes, it does, but some of them were good too. I was about 13 when I got into reading and now I have a waiting list, I love the book series the most because they become dear to you more than the short stories. So after this is done, I'll ask you
You're very welcome I'll want one day to fanart you ^^

Really? I don't remember a single thing that was mandatory to read for school that I liked -.- Not to mention the lists of 60+ books (I'm not exaggerating) that you must read during the summer, which is kinda impossible even if you don't show your nose outside the house, which isn't the best way to spend a vacation, especially when you're a kid. But anyway, I guess I'm still mad for that, even if it was so long ago.
Awwww, but this is so nice of you! I don't get a whole lot of fanart and it always is very special and means a lot :3

Maybe you had bad luck, my teacher was pretty cool. I remember that I liked a lot ''Gone with the wind'' and some more. But I think some books with wizards and dragons would be more constructive for kids' minds than those.
It will be a great pleasure, you're on my ''to do'' list now ^^

I've had very nice teachers as well. Doesn't change the fact I freckin hate to be forced to read something that's still not interesting to me. In fact, even if it might be potentially interesting, the fact I am forced into it, makes it unpleasant.
Awwwwwww X3

Ohh I understand that perfectly, the ''teeny'' reluctance to being forced, I've got a lot of it too, but I'm trying to not let it make me dislike things that I already like.

It's not a "teeny" thing. It's a thing of my personality. I still have it and it's no less strong. I don't plan to change it, either, it's quite well in place.

I know, it's just widely considered to be related to the identity crisis around that age. Sometimes I feel that people give it up because of brainwashing, when actually all of us should remain "teeny" instead of becoming "mushy".

Ah, yeah, that's true. And.... I kinda agree to that.
