The electric blue makes a gorgeous contrast with the dark, washed-out "realistic" color scheme. The rest of the piece is restrained and subdued enough to be a faded old oil painting in an office lobby or a grandparent's condo, so your specter is vivid enough to give us a double-take and feel truly Unearthly.

Thank you, I am so glad you like it. I really feel I did something new here in terms of the background. And the 'faded old oil painting' observation is spot on! I've been re-familiarizing myself with the Golden Age of Finnish Art, especially looking at nature scenes by the brothersΒ Von Wright.
