From ~melete 's music challenge. I loved a lot of songs from the list, but Aphex Twin's "Avril 14th" [link] made me quite happy.This done with watercolour, but touched up a bit with PS 7 because I'm fail like that.
Ftr, I think Sirius either plays the piano or the violin. Something like that. Because Walburga made him learn when he was a kid. And he never told anyone but Remus because he was afraid James and Peter would laugh at him. Yeah, something like that.

I just have to say, I'm obsessed with your art. So unique, touching, and inspiring.
And also, it totes makes sense that Sirius would play an instrument. I imagine Remus is more of a writer/artist. Yes.

And Sirius playing the piano is to me as good as cannon. I just can't imagine him not doing it, just as I can't imagine him being allowed to have a lousy handwriting. *laughs* I know it's kind of a weird thing (yes I do have a weird handwriting-fetisch and I can't even spell it), but somehow I can just imagine the look on his mothers face if she found out he were writing like... I don't know, it's too late for me to make a good metaphor here. But you get my point. Those fancy rich people. They're crazy.

What you said, at all counts! He's snotty, has a posh accent and couldn't help it. I love what you said about his handwriting. I agree. (Also, I have this idea of him lecturing Remus about licking his fingers and leaving crumbs on the table.)

Well, folks, he STILL were raised by them, wasn't he? Things like that stick.

Yeah. My idea is that he was born and raised a Black. He can't help that. Old habits died hard, if at all.
There's this fanfic writer I love, franticbabbles (who deleted her account in LJ), who wrote the best 1st war fics, and I remember one time where Sirius was whinging about how Remus left crumbs in the jam jar, and I thought, that's my Sirius!

Exactly. I think James pretty much were the one to REALLY turn him around, so to say... Sure, I think he started to question his familys valuations (not sure I'm using the right word here... english isn't really my first languige. As if you havn't noticed by now.) before he came to hogwarts, but to really BREAK from them, I think he needed a kinda brutal push in the right direction. And I think James, open minded as well as not afraid to speak out (and be a little, uhm, insensetive when he did), was just the right person to give him that. Needless to say, I think they had quite a few fights in the beginning, but in the long run that was what made their friendship stronger.
