Description My first attempt at a cat running. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, but that may just be because I had a good reference. I slowed it down a bit otherwise the .swf file will ghost the movements.

The head was tweened then traced over. Limbs were all drawn separately.

Okay, I guess that's fine. Β To colour it you could use Paint or Photoshop or Gimp, or any colouring program really.Β

very fluent animation

There is one thing Im little confused about.
The left back leg is the lead leg ( it is put always ahead of the right one after the right leg makes contact with the ground) but the front left leg is hitting the ground before the front right leg does... shouldn't the front-right-leg make contact with the ground before front left leg? XD

Im not too familiar with cats running so I may be wrong. I have so far animated only galloping horses and canines for practice, but if my memory is correct cats share similar running pattern.

I had never noticed before. Β You're right that with horses it's the other way, but for some reason the reference I used of my cat has her doing it the way I've done in the animation. Β [Link] Β I don't even know if that is the usual way cats run or not. XD
