earlier this year, we had what i like to call "The chicken massacre of 2014" in which all 12 of our chickens were taken out. my dad went down to their pen in the morning and he described it very... well.

Make sure this fella can't burrow under anything!

But now we have 7 little babies that make a hell of a lot of noise!

That's terrible. Are you sure it was a fox?  That sounds more like something a weasel of fisher would do.

We're installing an electric fence at fox level which we hope will help.

um... i don't think it could be a weasel or a fisher, seeing as i live in Australia... and i'm pretty sure the kangaroos won't eat them...

Maybe the neighbors dogs got out... i don't really know!

thanks for the support with the chicks. We have one currently that has no feathers on his little head, so he looks like a vulture. We nicknamed him buzzard

I think that was my favourite stage.  XD We had to double the height of our fence to stop them getting out.  Its eight feet high now.
