The problem with the last two Doctors is that they are written to be loved by the viewers, Tennant being cool and Smith being cute.

I haven't seen Matt... But I don't mind the Doctor being written to be cool ^^ Tennant was awesome! I feel that it's important for the character to have very varied identities.
