Description 13" x 21".... Oil on panel.

This one is VERY loosely based on the St. George story. I just did this for fun and wanted to do something rather whimsical that didn't necessarily have to make much sense. I was also inspired to created in image with a sense of the flattening of the picture plane... as James Christensen does in a lot of his work.

Joust never even entered my mind when I created this piece but I of course in hindsight see the connection. Makes me wonder if I should use other old arcade games as inspiration for a series of works.
