A WIP of for ~PrissyKissy True it is just a small preview of the final result but hey I'm having fun with this! It does show that I am indeed working on this piece. Hope you like it so far Lori!
In addition to this, I've created a little something extra. I'm making progress with my requests as well, if you are waiting for one

Thank you so much! I'm glad that the scan actually shows the color well. Hopefully he will behave when the time comes to scan the entire picture.

This is quite lovely. I especially enjoy your use of minimal outlining. It gives the piece a more painted look, despite being made with colored pencils.
Also, I was wondering if you are using a blender pencil in this piece. If not, your picture looks very well blended for being without one.
Fantastic use of color and shading. I can hardly wait to see how this turns out.

Really? I trying to not to make it too noticeable, kind of a mixture between a cartoon and real life and I'm glad that you like the effect. And thank you!
Actually I'm not using a blender pencil, but I have been putting loads of layers and been keeping a consistent pressure. Each "color" consists of a minimum of 7 colors each done over each other. I think an issue for me in the past was actually not putting enough pressure onto the picture and not taking the time to do it slowly and carefully (I tend to prefer moving fast; I've been very patient with this one and I'm enjoying every second of it)

I really do love the effect you achieved. In fact, I think the technique makes the art even somewhat similar to the impressionist style of the Zelda: Skyward Sword game. Which is a pretty beautiful art style in my opinion.
Wow - I can imagine that's a very time-consuming technique! Although, it certainly makes it all the more fulfilling, I'm sure. Especially since it's turning out so wonderfully.

I use colored pencils. I have over 140 and they are my precious little babies

I wasn't sure if it was crayon or colored pencil-you just are really swell at coloring XD

I have the mangas as well (Well they are currently with my younger sister who is reading them a couple states away) and I do have one how-to-draw book themed on Zelda. Hmmm...I haven't looked at that in ages, perhaps it is time to bring that out again.
