THAT! Is how you effectively use a lightsaber in a Star Wars film. And the technology has shown how we can now bring back dead actors and make it seem like they really are there! I mean it really looked like Peter was still alive and was the same age he was when A New Hope came out!

Darth Vader hasn't really ever done anything amazing though, so it sounds like he's finally become badass.

In the books, no. Vader has done some pretty hardcore shit.

The books aren't canon (anymore hehe), which makes a difference especially when by far most people imply the use of the films alone to refer to what SW canon characters are and what they have done.

I know THOSE books are no longer considered canon. But since then they made a whole new load of books that are canon to the series so that Vader's badassery was retained.

Still, people like me mean to talk about the movie Vader, who is a definite and accurate representation of him, and not other presentations, which as you acknowledge are quite different.
