Personality: Introverted - This worker isn't exactly the easiest to strike up a conversation with. Cheong doesn't find most talks to be very pleasant and often keeps to himself, unable (and unwilling) to vocalise his opinions and thoughts; not that anyone would care, at any rate. He dislikes small talk as he finds those activities to be infinitely more exhausting than carrying cargoes for merchants. Despite being somewhat of a "mute", he's actually quite intelligent and can engage in certain exchanges that he's knowledgeable in, though it may take some coxing to draw that side of him out.

Distrusting - Growing up and seeing the mistreatment of his parents by their employers and landlords, he finds it hard to trust others, especially of those with wealth and in power. He immediately doubts people's intentions, even if they're in the same financial class as he is, because he believes that most, if not all, are controlled by their primitive drive to come out on top.

Resilient - Cheong is able to keep his emotions in check and maintain a healthy psyche despite what he had gone through, never wishing ill-will on another more than a normal person would. Simply put, he is flexible like a rapier, and can only be shaped with the right techniques. He refuses to let anyone or anythingkeep him down and bounces back easily. But that doesn't mean he does not learn his lesson when he is troubled, and he bends easily according to the views and outlooks around him. While Cheong couldn't be considered easily impressionable, he does learn through conversing with others, hearing and learning from their thoughts.

Story:He is not born with the name Cheong, but he has chosen to forget that name. It is a name from a family, a tribe, that he had long abandoned, not by his own will, but his parents'. After they've announced their inability to believe in spirits during Cheong's childhood, they became something like abnormalities to the their former friends and relatives, frequently excluded from group activities and festivals, eventually becoming estranged ones. It isn't until a favourable season for travel that Cheong and his family moved away from the Alishiani tribe, seeking shelter with a Kirche caravan. Several months after leaving, they finally arrive in the empire of Guarmi.

They had such high hopes (well, his parents, since Cheong learns to never be someone with too much hope. It is fruitless and thankless, because having too much hope just means that he'll end up disappointed should he fail). His parents think that once they're free from the spiritual Alishiani, they could finally earn their worth by climbing up the financial ladders of the Guarmi hierarchy. It is through much hardships that they learn opportunities, while abundant, are scarce to illiterate and penniless immigrants. While they could've slept in the forests close to Aeseul, his parents are adamant in becoming Gear citizens, thus signing contracts and agreements without a thorough understanding of its terms, which later lead them into troubles in finances as employers and landlords made a habit of taking advantage as much as they could before they could learn better. Bitter and angry, a teenage Cheong works tirelessly along his parents to pay off their debts

While he credits his enlightenments to the men and women he converses with at work, it is mostly self reflection that brings Cheong out of his phase of anger and rage. As he grows older, he looks back upon his past and learns from them, and eventually his anger fades as his live improve. He pours over account books and logs, learning enough words to know whether an unfair contract will exploited him, and he communicates with his co-workers to learn of current events to make a sound decision on what he should do in a time of economic or political crisis. But no matter what he did or how hard he works, he realises without a full education, he is unable to climb up the ladders. It doesn't bother him that much now that he is an adult, and he still labours diligently day after day, so he could keep on living this humble life.Alliance: Despite being a Jymoku, he keeps the pretence of being a Kirche since he's been taught to shun them and block them out, since they "don't exist", or so he's been told.
