I hate picking up a bad book because I've shelled out the cash. At least with a library book all you have to deal with is a late fee

Aye, but since I moved into a tiny mountain town eight hours away from my home town to go to college, I don't have any idea where the nearest library is. ;-; the school's library only holds nonfiction books for research and my reading material must come from bookstores.
But I agree with you about buying bad books. That's why I stand there for hours trying to decide what to get. So depressing.

I'm so impulsive. That's why I have a collection of bad books. You should try googling it. Google works.

Awesome! Will definitely do.
Yay, you can now enlighten me upon what books I should not read. My book guardian against evil.

I'll do my best! You're in luck, because I read entirely too much anyways...

You know who's good for a freaky story? Richard Laymon. He starts freaky and doesn't quit.

Good to know! I have a bad habit of getting stuck on the New York Times Bestseller's list, which is pretty much the latest book by James Patterson or Daniel Silva or Greg Iles who just keep mass-producing the SAME EXACT BOOK all together with different character names.
Same with all of Dan Brown's books. All four of them. The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Deception Point, and Digital Fortress. They are the EXACT SAME PLOT. It's horrifying.
Is there no originality anymore, as she cries to the heavens and the Library Gods..

OMG! FINALLY! Someone else who's seen the light! I said that before and nearly got decapitated. That's why I can't stand Dan Brown. He writes poorly and writes poorly over and over again! You'd enjoy Randy Wayne White--he's a Florida writer and the stories always take place in Florida--but it's real tongue-n-cheek which is always fun.

Ooh, fun! !
Geez, decapitated for telling the truth? Or at least your opinion of the truth.. Which happens to be right as far as I'm concerned.

You know it!
Today's book tip: if you don't mind Brit-style writing, give Douglass Clegg a try. He's unhinged.

I wish I had advice for you, but sadly I'm not nearly as well-read. ;-; At least not in the classics. Too many comic books in my youth. *fans self sadly*

I quit reading classics after I got out of highschool...except for "Lolita". For a book about a creepy pedophile, it's quite good. Very well-written and psychologically challenging.

I am also reading a book about a pedophile! Actually, it's a play, called "How I Learned to Drive" by Paula Vogel, I believe.
Wow, I can't believe how happy I sounded that first sentence there.
