The move blasted through the bleachers of the large stadium, shocking the audience as Ryuga's special move had once again done some damage. Smoke blinded Gingka as his eyes frantically searched for his red headed cousin. He coughed as he approached the stadium where Annie had stood before the destructive move and finally, he caught sight of her. She lay there unconscious and badly bruised. He had never seen her in this shape and that only made his hatred for Ryuga grow even more. His arms wrapped themselves around her limp body as he took in the tragi sight. She had fought to the fullest with all of the strength she had and yet failed to defeat the forbidden bey; L-Drago. His mind replayed the climax of the battle, when she said she would defeat him for the sake of her family and all those that fell beneath L-Drago's power. Even with all that determination, she failed and that broke his heart. As Gingka brushed away strands of hair away from Annie's face, he sighed deeply and looked up to glare at the opposing blader; Ryuga himself. Gingka promised he would fight him and defeat him in her name, avenging those who had lost as well.

I'm adding something new to her backstory~ During Battle Bladers, Annie eventually battled Ryuga and inevitably lost. Like Kyoya, Hikaru and Tsubasa, she was unconscious and wasn't going to wake up any time before Gingka's final battle with Ryuga.

ALSO

She developed mild PTSD from that battle and had frequent nightmares after waking up. The nightmares died down after many months of therapy however they spiked up again after witnessing Tsubasa be consumed by the dark power in the World Championships. Gingka and Ryo were the only people to know about her nightmares and after Tsubasa was hospitalized, sleeping became impossible for her until it reached a point where, whilst Ryo explained Tsubasa's condition, she revealed that she knew long before it was at its peak and broke down, finally telling them of her fears. She went to catch her sleep in one of the hospital beds and outside. Gingka explained to the others (Madoka, Kenta, Yu and Masamune) of what had happened in Battle Bladers and the aftermath.
