Description
The next day was a bit of a mess. Rogue had kissed me goodbye before leaving for the final round of the games. I sat with Master as I watched the games start. Sting still had that look in his eyes. I watched as the fights started during the finals. I was on the end of my seat as the first master explained to me what was going on. She had planned it all out and I impressed with her strategy. I cheered Gray on as he fought with Rufus. It was an intense battle.
Gajeel finally caught up with Rogue. Bridgette tapped me on the shoulder. She had been flying between Natsu and me whenever she could. She was keeping me updated. There was a lot more than the games going on.
The princess wanted to use a portal to go back in time and get rid of Zeref. As much as I was against it, I didn’t breathe a word of it to anyone. If they got rid of Zeref, Acnologia would’ve never been created and I would disappear. It was a sad reality but it would mean I would never change.
“(Y/N), Natsu has found something you might find interesting.” Bridgette whispered to me.
I gave off a small sigh and looked back at the screen where they were showing Rogue’s face. I ran to the palace as fast my legs could carry me. I finally made it there huffing and puffing. Natsu introduced me to future Lucy.
She saw me and backed away. I guess me changing did happen. I kneeled down and smiled at her. I held my hand out. At first she backed away but then took my hand.
“I almost forgot how beautiful you looked.” She said smiling at me. “Your future is grim if we don’t stop the dragons.”
“Dragons?” I questioned .
She nodded. “They open the portal and ten thousand dragons come from it. They destroy everything.” She looked up at Natsu.
Natsu helped her up and we started running down the hallway. Future Lucy led us through the hallways making sure we didn’t bump into anyone. We went down another hallway only to be cornered by the guards and some funny looking people. Everyone started fighting and I decided to stay by future Lucy’s side. She needed to be protected.
A dark shadow appeared on the floor and those who had been defeated started to disappear into the floor. Everyone was a little confused. A man appeared from the shadows. He smiled when he saw me. There was something familiar about him.
“My sweet darling (Y/N).” The man cooed as he moved closer to us. “How I have missed your human form.”
I stared at him. “Who the hell are you?” I asked.
He laughed softly. “It’s me Rogue.”
My mouth dropped open. I started walking closer to him, he held out his hand out to me. I took it and he pulled me close to him. He tucked my hair behind my ear.
“You look so different.” I said touching his hair.
He smiled down at me. “You look much better as a human.” He commented.
I started to slip into his shadows. For some reason I didn’t fight against it. Natsu was yelling at me for me to move but my body didn’t respond. I could hear him but it was like I couldn’t hear him. It was strange but I felt dazed and relaxed.
I woke up to a cold breeze on my face. I had no idea what had happened. I looked around and I could see dragons. I sat up and realised I was sitting on a dragon. I started freaking out a little. Future Rogue kneeled down and kissed my forehead. He helped me and I looked down on Crocus. It was in complete chaos, I could see dragons fighting the guilds. It didn’t look good.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“My love this is where we begin. This is where the darkness takes us both over and where we start our new lives.” Rogue said.
“I don’t want to become one with the darkness. I want to stay human.” I said moving away from him.
He gave off a dark laugh. “You cannot avoid it; you will become like your father but don’t be afraid. I will be with you.” Future Rogue said moving closer to me.
I shook my head at him. “That’s not going to happen.” I growled. “I’m not going to let myself become like my father.”
Future Rogue disappeared and reappeared behind me. “You know it was during this battle that you become a dragon. You become a fearsome ruler.” He said into my ear. “And then a year from now I change and the darkness takes over me.”
“But why?” I asked.
“You don’t need to know right now. You will find out in due time but for now enjoy your time as a human, my mate.” He whispered into my ear.
“Can I change all of this? If I don’t choose you as a mate, will I be saved, will you be saved?” I asked looking around at future Rogue.
He looked into my eyes. There was a little sadness in them. “Most likely but I’m not going to let you go my love. You mean too much to me.” He whispered into my ear once again.
His grip on me tightened and he wasn’t about to let me go but I had to get away. I had to save myself and others. I loved Rogue; he was sweet and caring but if this was our future neither of us would be happy with the outcome. I had to protect us both.
Natsu climbed up onto the dragon and glared at future Rogue. Rogue pushed me behind him. Natsu started attacking him. I saw the chance to get away and I used it. I jumped off the dragon and Happy caught me. He flew me down and I landed down beside the twin dragon slayers.
Rogue embraced me and kissed me on the forehead. Sting pushed Rogue aside and embraced me a lot tighter. He smelt sweet and it was kind of the same scent I had been getting from Rogue. He pulled back and looked at me with a smile.
“I’m so glad you’re alive. Where have you been?” Sting asked.
“Learning about my terrible future and how to avoid it.” I answered. “Rogue I need to speak to you about something. It’s horrible but it’s the only way to save me and you from the cruel future we are in for.” I said.
“I’m listening.” Rogue said.
The dragons they had been fighting both gave off gruff laughs. One of them looked at me and swung its tail at me. I was too late to react and was hit away. I crashed into a concrete wall, I lay on the ground. My body was aching and I kept seeing flashes.
I tried to stand up but I was too weak. I looked around and noticed that I was surrounded by little dragons. They snapped and growled at me. I gave off a smile; at least if these things kill me I won’t become the next Acnologia.
I pushed myself off the ground, my legs shaking underneath me. I created a dark sphere in my hand and gave the small dragons a deadly grin. I looked at my hands and realised I no longer had human hands. I started to freak out. The change had already begun, I didn’t even notice. The sphere disappeared from my claws.
My legs gave way underneath me. I sat on the ground and watched slowly as my body began to change. A crack of pain erupted through my spine and I screamed out loudly. It was inhuman and the smaller dragons backed off. I looked around; I could see the world around me changing. My eyes could see further.
I leant over and looked into a small puddle. My eyes were black and my skin was changing to grey and blue. My teeth were pointed and sharp; I looked like I was in an extreme version of dragon force. I went back to my sitting positon as more pain shot through my body. I was going to become a killer and there was nothing that could stop me.
