that i did, but the animation of it didn't work as well, kept getting black flames randomly. I only work in XSI now, getting used to ICE in version 7.

Ah right,cool, Ice is nice to do, in max simple falloff and transparency maps work wonders!
But the gas hob tutorial is one of my favourites
