Back in June, I turned to my SH Monsterarts “Adult Junior” Godzilla ‘95 for a reference to make a Burning Godzilla drawing. I originally wanted to make this into a marker sketch to test some Letraset neon markers for the burning patches (which look rad under a black light, by the way), but I liked the line art too much and decided to make a copy and colored that instead (which sold at G-Fest). But as you can see, I went ahead and did a digital coloring as well.
I like it when I make a piece that ends up undergoing a spontaneous creative process like this.

Godzilla vs Destroyer was quite a tragic film with Godzilla dying and poor Junior nearly being killed-but in the end Junior rises to become the next Godzilla. I also read plenty of DC Comics and I compare this to Knightfall and the death of Superman. Junior is the new Godzilla but during the late 90s Mothra was playing Godzilla hero like Azrael/Batman. Nice work.
