Description Gonna start dropping some of my Inktober pieces on here.

I've mentioned a few times that the Commander Keen series are my all-time favorite games, and I took the opportunity to try my hand at some of the characters.

- Commander Keen himself, along with one of the canine-esque "villains" of the first three games, a Vorticon (they're not really bad guys, they're just under mind control). I believe the Vorticons are normally supposed to be "dobermans", but for this one, I based him a collie. Kinda beckons a respectable higher-up-the-chain-of-command, authoritative presence.

- KEEN 4: Arachnut, Bounder, and Poison Slug. Arachnut used to TERRIFY me as a kid, mostly because, like a real spider, it would just appear out of nowhere (not to mention it's resistant to Keen's Neural Stunner, only staying stunned for a few seconds - it has Terminator levels of relentlessness). Bounder is a rather friendly fellow and...let's just say, evolution on Gnosticus IV had a sense of humor in producing what is more or less a sentient dodgeball. And Poison Slug is poisonous.

- KEEN 5: Robo Red, Sparky, and Shikadi Overlord. Probably one of the more well-known entries in the series, this is where Keen fights for the safety of the entire Milky Way, as the Shikadi plan to nuke it to kingdom come (yeah, as fun and imaginative these games can be, they ARE a little dark when you think about it). This one was good practice, making the robots look metallic and making the Shikadi look like he's made of pure energy and somewhat ghostly.

- KEEN 6: Fleex and Blooguard. While many favor 4 or 5, KEEN 6 is my personal favorite of the series, and a lot of it is due to the character designs. Fleex are said to be the scientists of the planet Fribbulus Xax, so I'd assume they get a kick out of a particular Oingo Boingo song (or was it Thomas Dolby?), and the Bloogs are the "dominant" species of the planet (using that phrase loosely); the Blooguards are the elites, armed with naught but a stone club.

*With the exception of the Keen 6 piece, the characters aren't meant to be interacting/in the same setting; they're just on the same paper. Though it was definitely intentional to make it so Fleex and Blooguard are standing next to one another. And I photographed the Keen 6 piece, because like hell my scanner was going to pick up the light blue I used for Fleex.
