Description
So this is actually a subspecies of Happa-brynn I'm developing for a story of mine, basically they're bird fairies that can shapeshift fluidly between birds and tiny people. There are various kinds that mimic real birds, but this kind is the Barn Swallow type. They might look cute but they've got a mean streak xDMore fun facts about Happa-fae, for those who are curious:
- They almost always have to have either one wing or their tail showing---they find it difficult to shapeshift into a fully humanoid form.
- They make primitive tools/weapons/clothes out of natural objects such as leaves, twigs, and tiny animal bones.
- They're very territorial and fiercely attack much bigger creatures.
- They live in colonies with the real bird they're mimicking.
- Wilder, more isolated colonies don't really do names, but those that live alongside sentient races may adopt nicknames, like SpiderKiller or Flower. They don't understand 'feminine' and 'masculine' names.
- Other recorded variants include nighthawks, wild pigeons, hummingbirds, and terns. The bigger the bird, the less likely a Happa-fae will mimic it.
- Their human forms are actually covered in incredibly tiny, downy feathers, and they have tiny claws and fangs.
- They communicate with each other using hisses, whistles, and chirps, but they can easily learn another race's language if exposed to it.
- In my story, they have some very minor magic powers, but those are still under construction atm so I won't get into it here.
That's all! Check back in a few days when I drop another hunk of visual lore with no context lol
