There's really no such thing as "THE" Marine Corps Ball... Each unit (normally batallion size & larger) has thier own. I've met Gen Hagee in person once, and I met the last CMC, Gen Jones a couple separate times.

Marine Corps Base Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Yep, it's Oahu. Bellows is now an Air Force Recreation center. Beach cottages, fun stuff like that. I don't think much has changed since the 80s, as my Uncle was stationed out here then as well. Although I'm sure there's more cars...more construction, etc... Either way, thank you for your comments, and your thanks does not go unnoticed.

We didn't go to the Marine Base. I don't know why Dave was at Bellows since he was a Marine. I do recall it was an AFB though.
I remember double rainbows almost everyday. We were there at the end of February and we would see the rainbows as we drove on the highway (Pauli I think it was, there was one called the Leki Leki too but my memories are those of a preteen so...) on the way back from the beach to my brother's apt.
There were a lot of cars back then too. Well at least you didn't wake up to 12 degrees F this morning.
