I'm thinking of getting a macro lens myself, but i'll probably go for the canon 100mm 2.8 macro, because the price diffrence is not that big... Did you have the chance to compare the 2 lenses, or are you a Nikon user ? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

While the red thing is a mite, it's not a spider mite. Most likely it's an Erythraeoid mite (Prostigmata: Erythraeoidea). The larvae parasitize many different kinds of insects, including true bugs.

I did hear that they are coming up with hundreds of new species. Those that study these things. It was definitely a great find and you captured it so well.
