When Sear and Adre faced Ehriz, Sear was affected by the "near pure" AKR that Ehriz inoculated.
Sear can attune with another being if his body assimilates an updated sample of the target's current DNA. So a lick of blood is perfect for linkage.
Same happens to Adre.
That's why he was tempted to bite Sear and link-up in the past pages.
