Description Chuck Taine the Bouncing Bear... err Boy! I'm a BIG fan of good 'ole Chuck but even I must admit, conveying his power set as being "cool" can sometimes be a challenge. Although he could potentially be depicted as quite formidable. However, it wasn't until I studied Alan Davis' take on the character that this piece started to gel for me.

An easy character and power-set to overlook as being silly.
Bouncing Boy's powers were depicted well in the Justice League Unlimited episode 'Far From Home'.
Sweet looking cityscape.

Thank you for your compliment about the cityscape. I decided to get a bit more funky with parts of the buildings literally floating above other buildings. As for Mr. Taine, I view him a lot like Cannonball from the New Mutants, while he's in his inflated mode he's practically impervious to harm. Also I'd like to think there's some ability to control his density somewhat, able to become extremely pliable or steel-like hard. Lastly, Legionnaires train to use their powers in tandem. Imagine Star boy using his gravity powers on Chuck to turn him into a super heavy bouncing wrecking ball!

Yeah, The Legion members definitely benefit from team-work.
Cannonball is a good example of one way writers could have Bouncing Boy apply his powers.
I was thinking of him also using his abilities along the line of Speedball.
Picking up momentum with each impact.... he could really do some damage, while being impervious to harm himself.

Well there you go. Both theories on Bouncing Boy's powers work well. I'm convinced, there aren't any truly "lame" powers, just a writer's inability to make the most mundane in to something truly interesting.
