Description
Flowers sprout to spread pollen all over the place. May cause allergies and a devastating attack on the nose....I love spring, but at the same time I hate it sooo much. I use like, three tissue boxes per day. D:
Testing out some things, like the balance between painterliness and clean-lineart-ness. Critique's appreciated for this one~ (anything, ie. coloring, anatomy etc. Be sure to read other people's before commenting though. 8D )
ALSO, don't just say what's bad. Point out what's good too! (If anything loll) And when there is something bad, suggest
how to improve it next time. <-- IMPORTANT.

Combining Leafeon's pose with the opening sentence in the artist's comment [the attack being used is "Spring", as in the season of] yields a frightening image; Where exactly are all those flowers and spores spontaneously sprouting from? Is this the kind of attack a Muk would use? Will it be just as smelly? Why is Leafeon pointing its butt at me like a Skuntank about to explode?
Luckily, mercifully, I'm only exaggerating.
I haven't seen too many pieces where the original drawing's lines were successfully blended away into shadow or the background, but Alphaistic has done an admirable job. I think it has a lot to do with the lighting creating many opportunities for the lines to either disappear or look like a deep shadow, defining the body-parts but not being as distracting as a solid black line. Also, I love this painting-style, it's very easy to modify on the fly and still retain an overall uniform look.
The shading looks realistic enough, though I think the brightest high-lights on the forelegs are too much, they look glossy instead of "skin-like" like the rest of the body (maybe those legs are wet? lol). The tail looks a lot duller than the ears despite being closer to the imagined light-source, but I don't mind too much.
The lifting hind-legs, the swirly background, and spinning ring of vines creates a sense that something is about to happen, a storm is gathering, and the torrent is aimed right at you!
And I have to agree with the artist, drawing Pokemon is always fun, a sure-fire cure for a stubbornly-rooted imagination.

I agree, the skin's kinda...sparkly. Like Edward Cullen, oh gosh. I'll keep that in mind when I draw other things!

I think the muzzle should be a little bit more... defined. It seems very much like there's no really difference between where the main section of the skull ends, and the jaws begin.
Maybe looking up on the facial structure of a Leafeon, or a cat's, as they're so similar in body type, would help in future?
I do, however, ADORE the colours and the shading. o///////o
I think trying to mimic the amount of detail on your art would be something for ME to strive toward. xD

You know I recognized something awhile ago and in this picture its very well visible!
When I do shadows, they are just darker colours, but you also take a cooler colour and make the shadow look a quadrouple time more awesome 8D
