Nice to see you uploading stuff, Kasumi. Nice sketch and skin tones!
I didn't know about this open-source software, I'll have to try it out! ^^

Thanks! I'd love to be painting and animating more, but there's some other stuff I need to get squared away.

I know what you mean, man. I wish I could have more time do to stuff like this as well.
I tried Krita out, btw. It's really good, kinda slow and glitchy sometimes, but it has everything I need to paint. So kudos to those guys and you for letting me know about it. ^^

I've been waiting forever for a free, bitmap-based animation software that would allow actual painting of frames. (Pressure opacity.) I heard Krita might get official animation support, so I tried it to make sure I could stand how painting feels in it. GIMP also appears to be trying this, but it's a worse experience. Another piece of software that might become this is Aseprite. Krita currently does the painting stuff, Aseprite does the animation stuff. Aseprite is also only free on a technicality, but I'm cool with that. It's a race to see if Aseprite gets painting, or Krita gets animation first. If neither program crosses the finish line before I complete my current project, I'm writing the software myself.

I hope one of those teams take the final step soon. I know the waiting is long, man, but I wouldn't like to see you spending your time programming that instead of creating amazing stuff. I really want to see your animation projects and games finished, it would be awesome. ^^

If the program doesn't exist in my price range by the time the game is done, the best use of my time is making it. The other option is keep waiting, and I can't do the sort of animation I want without such a tool. Traditional works perhaps, but scanning is completely exhausting.

I see. Well, it seems the options sums up to what you said, I just hope it doesn't take you too long. If it does at least get some profit from it there might be ppl in your same situation without programming skills. Anyways, good luck with that, Kasumi, I'll let you know if I find any cool software, even if you're more aware of that than me, so yeah xD
Take care, man~
