I could write a badly written romance fanfic and it would be better than Twilight. I dare even say that Shymalan's movies are better than Twilight, at least his movies are entertainingly bad.

Nickelodeon doesn't deserve any credit for it, though. They greatly underestimated the maturity of their audience and their ability to handle more adult themes. Korrasami didn't happen because of them. The writers even fell into the mistake of following the common, tried and true, cliche formula of "boy meets girl" and that's why we had Makorra, which, according to the writers themselves shouldn't have even made into the second book/season. The only reason it even went on for that long, is because it was fan-service. Those fans who wanted their precious, boring, typical teenage romance got their wish with it, but then...it thankfully ended and they had the guts to go with Korrasami. They still had to change the final scene, and reduce the obviousness of it, because of Nickelodeon's concern for ratings.
