No special effect, just photoshop, some masking, blurring and sharpening.

Thank you This was my second concert as a photographer, so I didn't had much knowledge of doing this effect in camera, so it was done in Photoshop as Natural-Philo said. Masking, bluring, sharpening. An hour's work I think.

I'm certain it's not an in-camera zoom-lens effect , i.e. the zoom-blur effect has been done in post-production , (e.g. in photoshop).
