Description
This is for the "Sketch This" Featured Challenge. Β fav.me/d9khkp1When I read the description for the challenge. I was suddenly struck with this inspiration. It may be not as eyecatching, or time consuming as many of these other lovely pictures that have been entered.... but the self portrait enveloped in light at the center of the black vastness I believe is symbolic of all of us. Of our souls, our passions, our individual talents, our beliefs, our emotions, of our everything. I think that to draw ONE picture to embody everything that colour is.... is impossible... for we as humans are so limited, we don't even see all the colours that EXIST. We only have a few cones in our eyes, while other creatures have more, and can see colours we never will. Or.... maybe we will someday, who knows...
Either way, I think for me, this is the way that the theme revealed it's form to me as, and I am happy with it. The simplistic design, with it's bold and true meaning, can be interpreted however the viewer wishes. And yet that does not take away from my interpretation. And really... isn't that what colour all is? A personal experience.
I hope we can all take in the colours in this world to be just as breathtaking as the next....
And let us all see the inner light and colour within all of our fellow mankind. For we are all light.
Thank you. You are all brilliant rainbows of colour to me.

No worries! I had to figure it out too.
Step 1- Β Follow the link to the Destiny Blue challenge on the Sketchbook Page --> Β autodesk-sketchbook.deviantartβ¦
Step 2- Β In the Destiny Blue challenge folder there is a button that says "+ Contribute to This Folder" Click on that!!!
Step 3- Β Then find your Deviation you want to submit, and select it and submit it to the folder.
You will later on, maybe in a day or so get a notification saying if it has been accepted into the competition. GOOD LUCK!!!
If this was unclear, or you need further assistance, feel free to send me another comment on here, my notes, or my page on DA. And if I don't know you can always send a note to the Autodesk Sketchbook page, or the Help forums on DA.
Thanks for your Question. Hope this helps!

The white light or the colour?
The white I used a thin flow on an air brush circle and then used a soft eraser at a slightly smaller size to erase the middle and make it get that halo effect.
The coloured glow is a mix of light airbrushing of colours over lots of faint thin circles expanding out in the different colours. kinda like tiny lines of rainbow colours.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if it was eye catching enough.... I had a just black and white version, but I thought it needed a little something so I added the rainbow ring.
