Back from my vacation and finally posting againSo for my dragon lady here I wanted to design some interesting clothing and then she ended up kinda naked...oh well
But I actually like how she turned out and I got to play around with darker lighting and making everything look more coherent. Hope you like her

Naked or almost naked is often better I find, clothes often are just distracting to the emotions and feelings, and like the purity of it. I really like it, it fits that she's wearing so little, I really adore the headress she's wearing, and the glowing necklaces she's holding, this is simply stunning Ally :>

And thank you very very much! Regarding the dragon, it was actually my intention for people not to notice right away ^^ I kind of wanted it to be a surprise for those who look a little bit closer. Otherwise I would have made the lighting around it stronger and not keep it in the shadows.
Well, I somehow imagined that the key is the bond to the dragon. So that she has power over him because of the key...thus his eyes that glow in the same color as the key...but maybe behind the door the key goes to lies the key (budumm) to why the dragon obeys her..

Well I guess because the viewer usually wants to indentify with the main character of a story, and since most people consider themselves to be of a good nature they cannot relate to the villain as well as to a hero. And if it’s supposed to be a real villain you cannot really tell the reasons behind their behavior as this would offer an explanation for their evil nature which again would make them less villain-ey (is that a word? ^^) but more like someone who suffered a tragic fate or sth.. now trying to think of a real villain centered story...

That's a good point. Well, I guess it depends on the villain. Some villains can be quite 1 or 2 dimensional, but some villains can be quite complex yet still evil. It can be done in my opinion, but is probably quite hard to do because of the reasons you mentioned. Hmm the only Villain centered story I know of is Nimona .

Well if it helps there is an animated movie version in the works slated for 2020. So far there hasn't been a change in date, but since Disney is buying Fox which owns Blue Sky Studios, that may change.
