Commission for Reind33rViking of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon. I've never drawn this dude before and his design is so off from the typical pretty fantasy dragon that it was certainly something new. He's like... A giant winged komodo dragon? Axolotl? Komodo Axolotl?
Anyway. This was really awesome to do. Those scales were annoying at first, but then became super relaxing and when I was done I didn't want to be done, pft.

I love Toothless ^^ He looks dragon enough but also very different and the shape is recognized immediately!
They did the series dirty with the third movie, but the first two are some of the best movies I have seen.

All the dragon designs in How To Train Your Dragon are pretty awesome I think, quite unique and fun. You've done an amazing job with this, those scales are mind blowing!

Yeah I like how derpy and weird they are. Makes a difference from your typical menacing looking dragon too.
